The highlight of my placement was going to an outreach clinic, then having king coconuts with the registrars on the side of the road on the way back.

Many patients presented late, so I saw fairly advanced and destructive tumours

There was one paediatrics ward, which was split in two - contagious (diarrhoea) and non-contagious, mainly malaria and pneumonia.

It was an incredible experience both as an elective placement and as a life experience
